Privacy and cookies

What we keep, and why.

The short version: we only have what you send us, we use it to answer you and to arrange what you ask for, and we never sell it or pass it on for anyone's marketing. This site has no tracking cookies, and its analytics are cookieless and aggregate only.

Who we are

actually london is a trading name of Londonium Ventures Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17497704, registered office 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. The company is responsible for the personal data described here. For anything on this page, email hello@actuallylondon.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp on 07783 067319.

What we collect

Only what you give us. When you send an enquiry that is your name, your email, the dates you are in London, how many of you there are, where you are travelling from, your preferred language and anything you write in the message. If you message us on WhatsApp or email us, it is whatever is in that conversation. If you book, we also keep what we need to deliver it, such as a pickup address or flight number.

Why we use it

To reply to you, to plan and deliver what you have asked for, and to keep the records the law requires for a business. The legal basis is that you have asked us to do something for you before or under a booking, our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us, and our legal obligation to keep business and tax records. We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be on one.

Who else sees it

  • Web3Forms delivers the enquiry form to our email inbox.
  • Google hosts that inbox.
  • WhatsApp, run by Meta, if you choose to message us there.
  • Cloudflare hosts this website and provides its cookieless visit counts.
  • Stripe takes payments when you book. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us.

Some of these companies process data outside the UK, under the safeguards UK data protection law requires. We do not sell your personal data or share it with anyone for their own marketing. The providers listed above process it only as needed to provide their services to us.

How long we keep it

An enquiry that does not turn into a booking is deleted within twelve months. If you book, we keep the booking record for as long as UK tax law requires, which is normally six years, and then delete it.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you and have anything inaccurate corrected. Where the law allows, you can also ask us to delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to a particular use. Email us and we will answer within a month. If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies, and why there is no cookie banner

This site does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless, reports in aggregate and does not identify you or follow you across sites. Our fonts are served from our own domain rather than from a third party. The only thing it stores on your device is a note, kept in your browser, that you have closed the bar suggesting another language, so it does not keep coming back. Our host, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from abuse. None of that needs your consent under UK law, which is why we do not ask for it.

If that ever changes, this page will say so and the site will ask you first.
