Christmas lights tour
Seven installations, one evening, in the order they are worth seeing.
- Duration
- 2.5 hours
- On foot
- 2 miles
- Starts
- 5:30pm, Oxford Circus, under the lights
- Group size
- 8 per guide
- Price
- From £150 per group
Best for a first Christmas in London, a date, or a group who want one good evening
The West End switches on over about four weeks from early November and the installations are nothing like each other. Regent Street has the angels, Carnaby does something different every year, Bond Street is the expensive one and Annabel's builds a facade you can hear people gasp at. They are all within two miles of each other and almost everyone walks them in the wrong order, into the crowds, at the wrong hour.
What is included
- Seven installations, walked in one direction
- Timed for the hour after the shops empty and before the restaurants fill
- The stories behind the streets, not just the lights
- Photographs taken of you, properly, at the three spots that work
- A mulled wine stop halfway
- Where to eat afterwards, booked if you want it
Where we go
- Oxford Circus, the crossing everyone photographs
- Regent Street and the angels
- Carnaby Street, this year's installation
- New Bond Street, the expensive end
- Bond Street storefronts
- Selfridges windows
- Annabel's facade, the last stop and the best one
Worth knowing
Runs evenings from 13 November 2026 to 4 January 2027, once every switch-on on the route has happened. Carnaby switches on 4 November and Bond Street not until 12 November, so the first two weeks of November are a partial route and we do not sell it as a full one. Wrap up: it is two and a half hours outdoors.
Rather do it on your own? Christmas lights in the West End and Mayfair: a walking route is the free guide to it, or get the days timed for your dates.
